SWAYAM NPTEL

NPTEL MES AIMAT

MES AIMAT has been established as SWAYAM – NPTEL Local Chapter.

SWAYAM NPTEL

The National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) is a project initiated by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) aimed at offering high-quality education accessible to everyone interested in learning from the Indian Institute of Technology (IITs). NPTEL was started in 2003 by seven IITs (Bombay, Delhi, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras, Guwahati, and Roorkee) along with the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore.

In its initial phase, NPTEL focused on five major disciplines: Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. During this phase, 289 courses were developed and made available in web/video format.

To further expand its reach, NPTEL collaborates with colleges through the SWAYAM-NPTEL chapter. This collaboration allows colleges to establish a chapter dedicated to NPTEL courses, subject to approval from the college management. Each chapter is overseen by a faculty member appointed as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC). This faculty member serves as the liaison between NPTEL and the college community, facilitating the integration of NPTEL courses into the college curriculum and ensuring smooth communication between the two entities.
